My Story

In March 2024, we will be taking part in Europe's favourite running event, the Barcelona Marathon, on behalf of St Basils Homeless Charity.

We work closely with St Basils at Capsticks having organised and taken part in various projects including hosting fundraising picnics, revamping the garden at one of their properties and meeting with young people to work on their life skills.

St Basils is a really deserving charity who work with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to enable them to find and keep a home, grow their confidence, develop their skills and increase opportunities.

As a group we run together once a week from the office and we took part in the Great Birmingham Run in May 2023 for St Basils! We thought we would take a step up for our next challenge (and why not somewhere we haven’t been before)!

Experiencing homelessness or the threat of it is a huge shock, no one plans for it and it can be very frightening and devastating. St Basils accommodates 600+ young people every night and as it stands, they are short of £8.93 per person, per day in order to continue their vital work within the West Mids.

It would be amazing to help to continue their important work which continues to help these young people and the wider community.

A note from St Basils...

A huge thank you to Emily, Vicky and Helen who have chosen to take on the Barcelona Marathon to help raise funds for St Basils. We’re so grateful for not only your support, but for all the donations given by friends, family and colleagues which will help us continue our work within the West Mids.
